Soccer, Softball Scores Called in from Monday

SOFTBALL

Catholic 3, Prattville 1 (8)

PRATTVILLE — Rylee Wilcoxson hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh and the Knights added a pair of runs in the eighth to defeat the 7A Lions 3-1 on Monday afternoon.

Auburn Wilcoxson’s sacrifice bunt scored the game-winning run and Carissa Gilbert added an insurance run with an RBI for the Knights.

Mally Barranco and Haley Ishman scored runs in addition to Rylee Wilcoxson.

Gilbert picked up the win in a complete-game performance, allowing just four hits while striking out seven over eight innings.

Catholic plays host to Montgomery Academy in a 3A Area 6 game on Tuesday at 4 p.m., while Prattville (11-11) plays host to Dothan in a 7A Area 3 game.

Prattville Christian 18, Trinity 0 (3)

PRATTVILLE — The Panthers pounded out 15 hits and Lara Beth Nesmith picked up the win in the circle as PCA improved to 4-0 in 3A Area 6 play with an 18-0 win over Trinity on Monday in a game limited to three innings by the mercy rule.

Saniyah Weaver went 2 for 2 and Sarah Schmidt was 2 for 2 with two RBIs in the win. Payson Hanson was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs and Sarah Williams was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

PCA (14-6) will travel to Marbury on Thursday for a game at 6 p.m.

BOYS SOCCER

LAMP 6, Prattville Christian 2

PRATTVILLE — Cohen Palmore led the Panthers with two goals but PCA (3-4-1) dropped a 6-2 decision to the Golden Tigers at Panther Stadium on Monday.

Liam Taylor had one assist for the Panthers.

GIRLS SOCCER

Prattville Christian JV 4, Holtville JV 0

PRATTVILLE — Calli Bullard led the Lady Panthers with two goals scored and Ally Blankinchip and Mary Virginia Penton each scored a goal to lead the junior varsity Panthers to a 4-0 win over Holtville on Monday night.  

Ella Pegg had a pair of assists and Kayden Carr added an assist. Kendall Jordan and Landry Hughes combined in goal for the shutout for PCA (3-0).
