Elmore County Hosts District Vex IQ Robotics Challenge at SEHS; Schools invited to World Competition in May

Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, Elmore County hosted a district tournament held at Stanhope Elmore High School, sponsored by Airport Road Intermediate School, Millbrook Middle School and in partnership with SCORE. Stanhope Elmore High School’s Beta club was also in attendance helping during the tournament.

Twenty-four Elementary/Middle School teams from Elmore County and a few teams from other counties came together to compete. The stands were full of parents and supporters cheering the teams on during the competition.

The Teamwork Champions Awards

Millbrook Bots & STEM Stallions – Millbrook Middle School – Millbrook, AL

The Robot Skills Champion Award

ARIS Mustangs 1 – Airport Road Intermediate School – Coosada, AL

The Judges Award

RoboIndians 1 – Wetumpka Middle School – Wetumpka, AL

The Excellence Award

Team Pitching In – Margaret Yarbrough School – Auburn, AL

The Design Award

T.G.R.T – Margaret Yarbrough School – Auburn, AL

Several of Elmore County Robotics Teams were invited to The VEX Robotics World Championship that will be held in Dallas, TX in May. They will compete with students from around the world. They will also be the first to see the roll out of the new robotics course for next year. Congratulations to everyone on a successful robotics year and Good Luck to those going to Worlds!!
