Saturday was the perfect day for hundreds of area families and music fans, as well as those who love a good painting, to gather at Pratt Park for the annual Wilson Pickett Music and Arts Festival.

Pickett was a native of Prattville, but went on to make a name for himself in the music industry throughout the world as a singer and songwriter. Who hasn’t tapped their feet to “Mustang Sally?”

The event, which drew vendors and businesses from all around the area, featured fun for kids with bounce houses and slides, several local bands playing a variety of music, food trucks for the hungry and people just celebrating the talents of others.

During the event, Prattville Mayor presented an official Wilson Pickett flier to the Wilson Pickett organization.

The bands included Madeline May, Todd Fulmer and Lacy Lynn, the Alex Walker Band, Al Jahara and the Good Vibez, Wesley Dennis as well as others.

Legenday local artist Charlie Tin Man Lucas came to share his talents as well as other local artists in the Artist Village. A Creativity Garden with lots of great activities for little ones was also a big hit as well as a Farm to Table Market with yummy treats.

Prattville people know how to throw a party and Saturday’s Wilson Pickett Music and Arts Festival was just another great example.
