Charlie “Tin Man” Lucas and Carol Bandy Carson to Teach Free Student Art Workshop in Prattville April 1

Looking for something fun for Spring Break? The City of Prattville and the Prattauga Art Guild will host a FREE student art workshop on Friday, April 1, at the Prattville Creative Arts Center. This special art workshop will feature Charlie “Tin Man” Lucas and Carole Bandy Carson as instructors.

Lucas and Carson will work with students from grades K-12. Students from Autauga County public, private and homeschool groups are invited to be a part of this fun workshop.

Internationally known artist Charlie “Tin Man” Lucas is a self-taught, outsider artist known for his unusual sculptures from found objects and rusted tin. He has worked all over Europe and the United States, has a studio and gallery in Selma, and lives in Prattville. Carole Bandy Carson is an award winning artist from Opelika, whose paintings are brightly colored, soulful works, inspired by family, history and church. Carole is a studio artist and teacher at the Opelika Art Haus.

This free student workshop is part of the 2022 Celebration of the Arts and is made possible in part by grants from Alabama State Council on the Arts. For more information about this workshop, contact the Special Events Office at 334-595-0850 or visit www.prattvilleal.gov
