Autauga County High School: OAHS Meeting April 2 will Focus on History of School

From Larry Caver, President

Old Autauga Historical Society

Our next quarterly meeting is fast approaching! We are looking forward to an exciting meeting on Sat., April 2, 2022, on the history of ACHS. We have almost 40 displays plus numerous artifacts to share. Word of the meeting is spreading among alumni and local residents of Prattville. We have no idea of the exact number coming but we do expect one of the biggest turnouts yet for OAHS.

The meeting will be held at Prattville Kindergarten in the Gymnasium. Entrance to the event will only be through the double door entrance of the gym, which faces the front of the Doster Center. This entrance will be marked with a sign. The front of the school will NOT be open. The doors will open to the public by 9 AM for viewing displays and artifacts.

The program will start promptly at 10 AM and will include several mini-talks from multiple alumni. Following the meeting, we will have refreshments which will include finger foods and drinks. OAHS board members are bringing items, however, we may need some additional finger foods if we have a good crowd in attendance. If you can provide a finger food item, please let Linda Walker know. Her email is: [email protected]

We also need a couple of guys with trucks to help us pick up chairs on Friday, April 1, about 12:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Prattville to take to the school gym. The contact person for this effort is Barbara Ware Russell . Her email is: [email protected]
