Editor’s Note: We have now updated this article with Wells’ mugshot. He has been charged with Murder and Domestic Violence. His bond is set at $1.5 million and he remains in Elmore County Jail at the time of this update.

Today at approximately 2:30 p.m., Calvin J. Wells, 24, of Montgomery was taken into custody in the city of Montgomery by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Taskforce. The arrest is in relation to the murder of Centell Winston of Tallassee that occurred on Jan. 20, 2022 in the parking lot of Walmart in Wetumpka. Detectives are currently interviewing Wells, and we will update as the situation progresses. Wells will be transported to the Elmore County Jail and be booked on a 1.5-million-dollar bond for Murder.
