The Pepsi USBC Youth Championship has Begun; Bowlers can Compete in Many Levels

The Pepsi USBC Youth Championship is under way. Youth bowlers are eligible to compete on U8, U10, U12, U15 and U18 levels. The championship is opened to all youth bowlers. They are given two chances to qualify for the first round of the tournament, sectionals during youth league. The U8 and U10 are not eligible to move the next round but they are competing to win scholarships. Saturday, February 19, 2022, our local sectionals was hosted by Bowlero in Montgomery, AL. The event was overseen by Alabama’s state youth director Mr. James Spitzley. Youth from Auburn, Prattville, and Montgomery bowling centers competed Saturday for their chance to move to the state tournament and a chance to win scholarships. The U18-U12 bowlers will move to the next round of the Pepsi Youth Championship, the State tournament, on April 2 at Spare Time Trussville in Birmingham, AL.

April 3, The top 6 in U12 and U15 divisions will return at 9am to bowl a 6 game league schedule with a position round. The top 6 in the U18 divisions will return at noon to bowling a 6 game league schedule with a position round.

If you are interested in getting you child started in bowling, you can drop by your local bowling center and they can direct you to when youth bowling is. Currently in our tri county area youth bowling is held at Bama Lanes in Prattville and Bowlero in Montgomery.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who make youth bowling happen, without you youth bowling would not be possible. They volunteer their time and expertise to ensure each youth bowler has the knowledge and guidance to move forward in bowling.
