Pedestrian Killed on I-65 near Jemison Identified as Florida Man

MONTGOMERY POST – A two-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24, has claimed the life of a Crestview, Fla., man. Lonnie Fowler, 28, was conducting vehicle maintenance on his 2007 Dodge Nitro on the shoulder of the roadway when a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Charlie Edwin Rogers, 50, of Atlantic Beach, Fla., veered off the roadway and struck the Dodge Nitro and Fowler. Fowler was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Interstate 65 south, near the 222 mile marker in Chilton County, approximately three miles south of Jemison. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.Hide original message
