Notasulga Man Dies from Injuries sustained in Dec. 13 Crash in Lee County

OPELIKA POST — A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:37 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, has claimed the life of a Notasulga man. Bryan James Buchanan, 57, was seriously injured when the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving veered off the roadway and struck a ditch, a culvert and, finally, a utility pole.

Buchanan was transported to East Alabama Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries Thursday, Dec. 16. The crash occurred on Alabama 14 east, near the 217.6 mile marker, in Lee County, approximately 1.25 miles west of Auburn. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
