Ground searches, two tracking dog teams and an ALEA helicopter have so far not yielded any sign of an Elmore County man missing since Sunday.

Agencies from Autauga, Elmore and Montgomery counties are working together to locate a 68-year-old Elmore County man that was last seen Sunday.

Christopher Hafley lives in the 400 block of Butler Lake Road in northern Elmore County. He is known to walk everywhere he goes, even long distances, and physically is able bodied. However, Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin said he could have the onset of a condition that could impair his judgement. While he does not drive, he may have asked someone for a ride. The search area has been centered in a heavily wooded area southwest of Equality.

In a previous incident, Hafley was found in the Opelika area.

Hafley is a white male, 68 years of age, 6’1, 190 pounds, with gray hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a button up shirt, unknown color.

According to Major Ogden with the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement and search teams began the search Wednesday evening, and effort have continued all day. Tips have come in, but so far none of those have panned out, Ogden said. However, anyone with information or possible leads is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.

The Prattville Fire Department is assisting in this search, as well as the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, Task Force, investigators, ALEA, two tracking dog teams, volunteer firefighters from multiple agencies and the Elmore County EMA.

If anyone has information on Hafley’s whereabouts, or think you may have seen him or given him a ride, please contact the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office at 334-567-5227.
