Around 2 p.m. today the Stanhope Elmore High School campus, and nearby Millbrook Middle School, were temporarily put on lockdown after information was received concerning a possible threat made by a student.
Fortunately, no credible threat was found by school and law enforcement officials. The issue was part of a disciplinary action and a student that allegedly made comments to other students that were reported.
SEHS Principal Ewell Fuller said the incident occurred near the end of the day, and was cleared up quickly, thus a full call out to parents was not made. “At that point, my priority was the safety of students and staff,” Fuller said.
School officials are still investigating, but at this time it appears that a student made threatening comments, but no weapons or credible cause for concern was immediately identified.
