The annual “Friends and Family Day” was help on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Grandview Pines Baptist Church. Pastor Chance Sangster and other members of the church invited the community to come out and enjoy this very special annual event. They also invited all of the areas first responders as well.
This year they did special music with the children, and music from the choir members as well. Their were a total of 94 people that came out to Sunday morning service. Stephanie Sangster, the Pastor’s wife said, “We are thanking the Lord for whoever came out to the church. Praising the Lord for all HE’s done.”
With COVID numbers rising throughout this year, it not only effects the people that are sick, but also the schools, businesses and a lot of churches as well.
Pastor Sangster has been serving Grandview Pines Baptist Church for over two-and-a-half years. He has now participated in three “Friends and Family” day events. The first year he pastored for the church they did a big dedication on “Friends and Family” day for the former pastor, Bro. Jared Decker, who passed away on December 28, 2018 unexpectedly. The church was filled with so many people that day in memory of Decker. He is still remembered to this day, and his family is still dedicated and helping at the same church.
When the special service was over on Sunday, everyone was invited to attend lunch at the church. There were so many different varieties of food items. People brought many yummy desserts as well. Local Millbrook firefighters and police officers were able to enjoy some scrumptious lunch as well.
Sunday evening, the church had a game night. It is held on the last Sunday of the month. They call it N.A.P. – Night at the Pines. That evening, the church played a big game of volleyball outside and there was also dinner that evening following the service.
