The owners of Millbrook salon Belle and Beau cut the ribbon today on an expansion which will double the size of the business and make it the only studio-style salon suites in the Elmore-Autauga area.
Brandi Mills, who started the business with Callie Lathan in 2013, said she wanted to be able to empower their stylists to own their own companies. “We’ve got a great group of girls here and we love to be able to mentor them and help them grow their dreams,” Mills said.
Mills said when the COVID pandemic hit, the business owners saw an opportunity to make the business not only more private but also safer from a health standpoint. In November, the business reopened with five stylists housed in individual suites. In April, the business added facials, skincare, body waxing, eyelash extensions, microblading and spray tans to the mix.
A large crowd attended the ribbon cutting which included representatives from the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Millbrook.
“Yall could open a second location,” said Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Penny Nichols. “We’re glad you gave Millbrook a second chance.”
“Thank you to everyone who came to our ribbon cutting for the Studios,” the company said. “A special thanks to the Chamber for all of the support and a huge thanks to our amazing group of girls!”
Hair stylists include Brandi Mills, Callie Lathan, Julie Jolley, Emily Hays, Amanda Greer, Kelsey Henderson, Victoria Singletary, Lexie Reese, Mary Katherine Golson and Alida Davis. The business offers men and women’s haircuts, balayage, formal styles, perms, keratin treatments, facial waxing, hand-tied extensions, color and highlights.
Esthetician MacKenzie Dean offers facials, skin care, lashes and body waxing. Tori Trucks offers lashes and spray tans. Kelsey Marie Jones offers lashes and microblading.
