Bryce Young, a sophomore at The University of Alabama, made his first career college debut at Saturday’s game against Miami.

As if a 44-13 win over the number 14 ranked Miami isn’t enough to celebrate, Young will also celebrate setting two new records for Alabama, in passing touchdowns and yards for a starting quarterback.

With four touchdowns and 344 yards in passing, he surpassed Jalen Hurts, current quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles; Mac Jones, who makes his debut for the New England Patriots this weekend against the Miami Dolphins; and the legend Joe Namath who spent most of his 12 years in the NFL playing for the Jets.

In a post-game interview on the field Young said, “It’s a blessing and not something that I take lightly, and I release a testament to my teammates and the coaching staff. The line did an amazing job blocking me and the running game was great today.”

Will Reichard, the kicker for Alabama, also continued a perfect performance hitting all of his field goals in the game against Miami.

This Saturday Alabama plays Mercer at Home.

Mercer, coming off a 69-0 win against Point University, feels optimistic about the upcoming game.

According to Roll Tide Wire online Alabama and Mercer have only played one another three times in which all three times Alabama has won.

Injury reports: Alabama’s Linebacker Christopher Allen is likely done for the season with a fractured foot. He will need surgery according to Head Coach Nick Saban.
