The Autauga County Board of Education held a special meeting on Thursday afternoon where it was announced by Superintendent Timothy Tidmore that Daniel Farris will take over the role as principal at Prattville High School. William Conyers will be named Principal of Marbury  Middle School.

Farris previously worked as a teacher for Alabaster City Schools and was most recently an Assistant Principal for Thompson High School.

Farris takes over as principal of PHS after the recent departure of Brock Dunn, who served in the role since 2017.

Conyers will replace Jerome Barrington as the new principal of Marbury Middle School.

Conyers was most recently principal of Johnnie R. Carr Middle School in Montgomery, a position he took back in 2018.

“We’re excited about the two new principals that we’ve hired. They bring a lot to the table, and we feel like they are really going to help us advance Autauga County,” Tidmore said.

Both individuals are expected to be officially announced to their positions at next week’s special BOE meeting, which will take place Thursday, July 29 at 5:30 p.m. at 153 W 4th Street, Prattville.
