Two-Vehicle Collision Overnight on Hwy. 14 in Millbrook Ends in Fatality of Prattville Man

Editor’s Note: This is a developing story, as it remains under investigation. What the EAN has learned is the driver of the Dodge Challenger was reportedly refusing to stop for a Millbrook officer. The driver of the Challenger fled from police and a short time later struck the Hyundai Sonata. We have reached out to the Millbrook Police Department and will update with more information as it becomes available. ALEA is investigating the crash, and below is the latest information the agency has released at this time.

ELMORE COUNTY –– A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately midnight Monday, June 21, has claimed the life of a Prattville man. James Everett Taylor, 48, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and attempting to turn onto Interstate 65 from Alabama 14 when his vehicle was struck by a 2012 Dodge Challenger. Taylor was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The crash occurred on Alabama 14 near the 158 mile marker, in Elmore County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
