ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

A missing infant, Caleb Michael Whisnand Jr., has been found deceased in Lowndes County. A woman identifying herself as a grandmother of Caleb has released this information on social media, but it confirms information we obtained from local sources.

The investigation was led by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also involved. Earlier this evening a video of the parents of Caleb was released where they asked for help from the community.

In her post on social media, the grandmother wrote: “The search is over.” She went on to say that the baby was found in the woods.

Authorities were searching for the infant around the River Bridge on U.S. 231 in Wetumpka earlier today, as well as a Montgomery landfill.

This is breaking news, and specific details are not available.

As this is out of our general coverage area, we will be sharing more information from Montgomery media as it becomes available.

In a post to social media, the grandmother said that shortly after the broadcast, the father gave information to authorities that led them to the recovery of the infant’s body. She said the mother was unaware until she learned it from the father after the broadcast.
