Prattville Police have made an arrest in connection with the city’s first murder of the year.

At around 6:15 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021, the Prattville Police Department responded to Prestley Street in reference to a dispute and a woman shot. “Note: The Street sign says Prestley, but maps show Pressley.” The street is within the Housing Authority near Martin Luther King and Prattville Junior High.

When officers arrived they found a female inside a residence who had sustained a gunshot wound. The woman was transported to Prattville Baptist Hospital by Prattville Fire Department personnel but she died from her injuries shortly after arrival. Her identity has not yet been released by officials.

Prattville Police officers took a suspect into custody identified as Adriguez Laderrion Harris, 29, and he has been charged with murder. He was placed in the Autauga Metro Jail on $250,000 cash bond.

A press release from the Prattville Police this morning reads, “This event started over an argument between the victim and another female about their children, with the suspect getting involved after that argument had occurred. At the time shots were fired, the victim’s children were in the apartment with their mother. The suspect was also treated for an apparent gunshot wound. This investigation is ongoing and more information to follow.”
