Marlon and Marcus Foundation Inaugural Celebrity Golf Classic Events Begins Today

Prattville, Alabama— The First Annual Marlon and Marcus Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic is scheduled to take place at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Capitol Hill on May 10-11, 2021. This is the Foundation’s first major event, and proceeds will support the construction of a world-class Community Center at North Highland in Prattville.

Monday, May 10, 2021

1:00 p.m. – Student Mentoring Visit

Marlon Anderson, Councilor Marcus Jackson, and guest professional athletes will visit baseball teams at Prattville

High and Junior High Schools to speak with students.

6:00 p.m. – All-Star Pairings Party

This event will feature the unveiling of renderings for the Community Center at North Highland, a Sports Memorabilia Silent Auction, and more than a dozen professional athletes in attendance including Atlanta Braves great Andruw Jones, Super Bowl Champion OJ Howard, MLB All-Star Luis Gonzalez, and more.

Tuesday, May 11, 2021

10:00 a.m. – Golf Classic Shotgun Start

144 Golfers, including celebrity guests, will participate in this year’s Golf Classic.

3:00 p.m. – Awards Presentation

About the Founders:

Marlon Anderson was a 2nd round draft pick by the Philadelphia Phillies baseball organization in 1995. In an MLB career spanning more than a decade, Marlon also played for the Rays, Dodgers, Cardinals, Nationals, and Mets before making the transition to coaching. Marcus Jackson proudly works in his community as an educator in the Autauga County school system and a football coach with Prattville Junior High School. He represents the citizens of District 2 on the Prattville City Council.
