The Millbrook Police Department has officially notified CrimeStoppers that an anonymous tip identified a suspect wanted for his involvement with a Fraud and Identity Theft investigation.
On January 05, 2021, a victim reported fraudulent charges made to his credit card in the 1400 block of Cotton Exchange. The victim was notified by his bank of the fraudulent charges to his card. The victim advised that he was still in possession of his card and was unsure of how his card information was compromised. Investigators released security video, through CrimeStoppers, showing an unknown male suspect using the victim’s card to make several purchases and retrieve cash back from earned rewards.
The suspect was identified as Thomas Christopher Smith (DOB: 07/14/1983) He is described as a white male, 5’10 in height, and weighing approximately180 lbs. Smith is now wanted for Identity Theft, 11 counts of Fraudulent Use of Credit Card, and 11 counts of Theft of Property. Warrants were signed through the Millbrook Police Department.
