Jenilyn’s Creations is a one stop store for all of your flower arrangements needs. They cater for birthday’s, weddings, funerals, and a myriad of events with floral needs.

The store has been a staple of Elmore community for over 30 years, and over that time, has forged relationships deep within the river region community.

One of the relationships that they have strong dealings with is the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce – who helps promote economic growth and development within the city.

“We have a great relationship with our chamber of commerce. The way that they promote and highlight different businesses in our community is second to none,” said Bart Mercer, manager at Jenilyn’s Creations.

Mercer, who also represents Elmore County as its’ District 4 Commissioner, has been a long-time worker at Jenilyn’s creations – namely, because she’s his mother.

“After I graduated high school, I went to work at my father’s construction business and my brother worked for my mother at her shop. Somewhere over a two-year period we ended up swapping roles and I went to work for my mother,” Mercer laughed.

Mercer has worked with his mother for the past 30 years, continuing a family tradition of self-employment in the Elmore area.

“The Mercer family has been a part of this community for the past 100 years, and we’ve been self-employed since the early 50s,” Mercer said.

Being involved with the community for so long can bring long-term success, but it’s the relationship that the store has with its customers that matter the most to Mercer.

“It’s important that we’re extremely involved with our community. As entrepreneurs, it’s our job to continually grow and provide the best products to our customers. We focus on what made us successful in the past, which allows us to grow moving forward,” Mercer said.
