MILLBROOK — Stanhope Elmore High School continued their annual tradition of sending Mustangs to the next level by having four sign National Letters of Intent to play football across the county this week.

William Whitlow will head to Memphis. Jaqori Williams to Dodge City. Trey Killingsworth to the upstart Chilton Prep and Gary Hood to Huntingdon.

“I’m extremely proud for these young men,” said Brian Bradford, coach of the Mustangs. “They exemplify everything a coach looks for in a player and will do great things at the next level.”

Whitlow, who played defensive end for the Mustangs earned a three-star ranking according to the website Rivals.com and drew interest and offers to play from several schools: Liberty, Appalachian State, Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech.

Williams will travel from Millbrook to Kansas to join the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors who kick off their season this spring as part of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

Killingsworth will join a handful of local talents in heading to Clanton to set sail with the Chilton Prep Pirates. This program is in its first season and will play games at Chilton County High School while competing against other styled Prep Academies throughout the southeast.

Hood made the decision to sign with Huntingdon after “much thought and prayer” according to a Tweet from this morning.
