Our featured pet this week is Rain. She has a beautiful but unusual colored coat plus lots of great features.
Rain is a 10-month-old female Catahoula Leopard Dog mix who must be spayed before she is adopted. She came to PAHS after she was turned in as a stray and since no one came in to reclaim her, -she is available for adoption. Rain is an unusual looking but gorgeous girl! Her coat is mostly brown to light tan with beautiful black merle markings.
Rain weighs 37 pounds so she is considered to be a medium sized young adult dog. She is leash trained and house trained. One thing you should be aware of is that Rain can climb a six-foot chain link fence like a monkey.
She would definitely need a wooden fenced yard. This incredible little athlete is friendly, affectionate, and would be good with children. Rain would also not mind sharing her wooden fenced yard and home with another dog. Well, the Olympics are coming up but we hope Rain gets a home before she qualifies for fencing–that is climbing fences!
Our adoption fee is $120.00 for dogs and $50.00 for cats. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.
The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville. Our regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm except for one day each month reserved for staff training. That will be on Thursday, January 28th this month.
