Elmore School Supt. Richard Dennis Gives Update on Covid Cases for Students, Faculty

FROM ELMORE COUNTY SCHOOL SUPT. RICHARD DENNIS

The following information has been sent to parents of students enrolled in Elmore County Public Schools.

This is Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools.

The return from Thanksgiving holidays has been fast paced as we begin the sprint to Christmas.  During the Thanksgiving holiday week, Elmore County Public Schools had 47 students reported testing positive for COVID-19 and 14 employees.  This week we had 50 students reported testing positive for COVID-19 and 17 employees.  Holtville High School and Elmore County High School both suspended basketball this week due to COVID-19 and will reevaluate the teams’ health statuses on Monday.  The CDC has made changes to the recommended quarantine times, and Elmore County Public Schools will enact them immediately once the ADPH and ALSDE release the updated COVID-19 Tool Kit.  We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation on a case-by-case basis and react accordingly.

Parents, final exams and midterm exams are required, and make-up dates will be arranged by your student’s school if there is a legitimate absence, specifically, COVID-19 quarantine or self-isolation.  Exam reviews will be next week, so have your student make sure to secure study guides and the necessary dates and times for exams.

If you wish to get call outs and other system-wide communications texted to you through Remind, visit the Elmore County Public Schools website and follow the registration process.

Thank you for your support and have a great day!

Every Student Empowered, Every Student Succeeds.
