PAHS Pet of the Week: Meet Wayne! Would Be Good With Older Children

FROM PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SHELTER

Our featured pet this week is Wayne.  He is very good looking, really sweet, and has lots of love to give.

Wayne is a 2-year-old male Black Lab/Catahoula mix who must be neutered before he is adopted.  He came to PAHS as a stray and his owner never came to reclaim him.  Wayne is about as handsome a dog as you will ever find!  His coat is black with gray merle markings.  Wayne currently weighs 43 pounds so he is considered to be a medium sized adult dog.  He came to PAHS with who we presume is his sister–Wendy.  Wayne is very timid and just wanted to lay down while we were making his pictures.  Once he became comfortable around us, he wanted to put his head in our lap and let us pet him. Wayne is so sweet and loving that he is going to bond very quickly with a kind and patient new owner.  We would suggest that he not be in a home with young children but Wayne would be fine with older children.  If you have other dogs we think you might want to bring your dog in for a “meet and greet.”   If treated kindly, Wayne will be a very loving and sweet family dog.

Our adoption fee for dogs is $120.00 and is $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.   The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm except for one day each month reserved for staff training.  That day will be announced later in the month.  For more information about our shelter, please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.

We really appreciate your help in finding homes for these precious pets.

Sincerely,

Ara Horn
