Elmore School Supt. Richard Dennis: COVID-19 Update – WMS Boys, Girls Basketball Teams Suspended for Two Weeks

FROM THE ELMORE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM

The following message is being sent out to parents of children within the Elmore County Public School System.

Call Out for November 13, 2020

This is Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools.

As we end week 14 a total of 19 students reported testing positive this week for COVID-19 and 6 employees.  Wetumpka Middle School boys and girls basketball teams have been suspended for two weeks due to players and coaches testing positive for COVID-19.  We will reevaluate the health status of both teams after returning from the Thanksgiving Holidays before resuming competitions. Surrounding counties have increased COVID-19 cases, and we have seen an increase this week, specifically, over the last two days.  Please, take precautions with your students so that we can limit the exposure to others.

If you wish to get call outs and other system-wide communications texted to you through Remind, visit the Elmore County Public Schools website and follow the registration process.

Thank you for your support and have a great day.

Every Student Empowered, Every Student Succeeds.

Richard Dennis
