Tanker 612: Take a Look at the Newest Addition to Holtville/Slapout’s Fire Department

From Holtville Slapout Fire & Rescue

Tanker 612 is the newest addition to the department’s fleet. It is a 1982 Ford F800, Diesel engine w/ an automatic transmission with 36,000 miles. It carries 2000 Gallons of water a 2100 Gallon Drop Tank. The tanker that is being replaced is a 1977 American General Military truck that carried 1250 Gallons of water.

Tanker 612 will respond primarily to structure fires inside and outside our service area to supply water to other apparatus. This tanker plays a vital role in maintaining our Class 4 ISO Rating. The Class 4 rating equates to lower insurance premiums for residents and businesses in the Holtville /Slapout Fire District.

For example, if your current insurance premium is $1,700.00 annually, it could go up to as much as $4,000.00 annually without this rating. This unit is staffed completely with volunteer men and women of whom, most also work full time jobs. If you are interested in joining your fire department, we have training every Tuesday night at 7 pm.

We are always looking for personnel! We have several opportunities at the department. Medical Personnel, Firefighters, Drivers, Support Personnel, & Administrative positions are always available. We also have an Auxiliary that provides assistance to the department.

If you do not want to be a member of department personnel, the auxiliary is an excellent opportunity to offer much needed support for the active members in the department. Please come join us and help us help you! See More Photos Below.
