Festive Displays Line Downtown Prattville During Busy First Night of Parade of Pumpkins

BY GERRI MILLER, EAN STAFF WRITER

Downtown Prattville was filled with both young and old people Friday night during the first night of the City’s Second Annual Parade of Pumpkins. The great news is, this display will go through the first week of November, so you have plenty of opportunities to take in the sights.

Merchants gave out samples, there were face paintings and live music filled the air. The store fronts were decorated, and pumpkins lined the street.  Restaurants were especially busy accommodating all the people downtown for the display. The Parade of Pumpkins will last until November 1st.

The family-friendly event is free and open for anyone to participate. Grab a pumpkin, get in the spirit, and share your creativity at the Parade of Pumpkins!

• Carve, decorate, or paint your pumpkin.

• Bring your pumpkin to Historic Downtown Prattville.

• Place it on display along the parade or leave it in the designated Pumpkin Drop-off area at 102 W Main Street. Pumpkin Drop-off began Friday night.

• The City has lights set for your pumpkin each night. (Candles are prohibited.)
