Just an ordinary day in the life of a teacher and coach is pretty busy…and then add a school bus route to the list. That’s what Stanhope Elmore High School Coach Virginia Barber did. No, she isn’t crazy….but she loves what she does.
Barber is the head volleyball and head softball coach at SEHS and also teaches Physical Education. In October 2019, she was asked to drive a school bus route and she did not hesitate to take on an additional challenge.
It was a much simpler life then, with no Covid she said, but she made the best of it and that is when Bus Driver Barber was born!
Bus Driver Barber started with a simple post on Coach Barber’s personal Facebook page and it went viral very quickly.
The post was just a few things that she had heard from the kids on her bus…but it was hilarious and from the mouths of children!
You see Coach Barber a.k.a “Bus Driver Barber” has only taught high school students so when she got around elementary students on her bus route she was Introduced to a whole new world!
It then began where a weekly update from BDB was needed and boy did it get likes! So many likes that she has started her own Bus Driver Barber Facebook page! Check it out if you need a good laugh.
She gained close to 900 friends in one week! She is now receiving gifts in the mail from “fans” and the likes, comments, and shares are still coming!!
The posts are conversations that she has with her students on the bus and other things that go on throughout her route and it’s quickly become a daily laugh for many!
