If you have driven through Millbrook and passed 3630 Edgewood Road, you have no doubt noticed there has been a lot of activity.
The building has seen a big remodel in recent months, and in October it will be a new venue for Food Trucks! The building has had many occupants over the years to include a tax office, doctor’s office and barber shop among many. It will now be called The Rex Venue Food Truck Park.
Owners Derek and Cassie Pegg, of Millbrook, went before the Millbrook City Council many months ago to apply for a liquor license, and the EAN announced plans for the business that will offer rotating food trucks on a large adjacent lot, indoor seating, a bar and live music.
Then COVID-19 reared its ugly head. As with so many other projects that were in the works in our area, things shut down for a time, stalled and workers were hard to come by.
Fortunately, things are beginning to pick back up again, and the work being done at The Rex is picking up speed as well.
According to the owners, when complete, the facility will be family friendly, and/or perfect for date nights. There will be inside and outside dining. A recent new patio has been constructed.
Owners are working on a plan for exact hours to be announced later, but say they hope to be open Thursday through Sunday. Food trucks will be rotated often, and perhaps weekly and nightly.

We will have updates as progress continues, but we are very glad to see yet another dining option coming to Millbrook’s downtown.
