However your kids are returning to school this year, time is growing short! A special event is planned to celebrate Back to School at the Coosada Community Center Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Center is located at 649 Pecan Grove Road in Coosada. The public is welcome!
This event is sponsored by Coosada Councilman Roosevelt Watkins (the brother of the late Leon Smith Sr.) and Capital Chevrolet. They are giving away 300 backpacks to the children of the community and surrounding areas.
There will also be a fire trucks, police cars, Sports cars, a Magic Show, Face painting, sack racing, free food and drinks.
