PAHS Pet of the Week: Meet Chief! Handsome Fellow, but an Escape Artist; Will Need a Secure Fence

FROM PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SHELTER

Chief, a very handsome Beagle, has been chosen to be our featured pet this week.

Chief is a 4-year-old male Beagle who has already been neutered.  He is brown with beautiful white markings; he has those gorgeous soft Beagle ears!  Chief has the prettiest eyes; and he even appears to be wearing dark eyeliner!  He currently weighs 35 pounds so Chief is considered to be a medium sized adult dog.

He came to PAHS as an owner turn in because he apparently is an escape artist so we will need a nice, secure fenced yard where he can safely play.  Chief is happy, outgoing, and loving.  It could even be said this handsome fellow has a merry temperament.  Chief would enjoy life best living with a family who is active.  Daily walks and a fenced yard would be perfect for Sergeant and help to curb his energy.  He is great with children and gets along fine with other dogs.

Chief is super friendly and would make a wonderful family dog.  If you are interested in adopting Chief come out and meet him soon.  Since he is leash trained and loves to go on long walks–why not get to know his precious personality while taking him for a walk at the shelter?

Our adoption fee for dogs is $120.00 and is $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.   The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm.  We do close one day each month for staff development – that will be on July 30th this month.  For more information about our shelter, please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.

We thank you so much for helping us find homes for these precious pets.

Sincerely,

Ara Horn
