It was an evening filled with Motown and 80s music, dancing, singing along and community spirit Thursday evening as the 2nd Annual Tunes on the Green Series in Millbrook Kicked off with the group H2O, featuring “Louisiana Fred” out of Montgomery.
Even Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley got into the spirit of the night, accepting an invitation from two lovely ladies to shake a tailfeather in front of the stage.
Food vendors were on site for refreshments and the crowd began to gather, toting lawn chairs and blankets.
Social distancing was suggested, as most stayed in family groups. A hand sanitation station was brought in as well for added safety.
A warm evening it was, but smiles were bright as friends caught up with each other. Just an excuse to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors seemed to be a welcome reprieve to many.
This is just the first of four FREE concerts that will come to the Village Green during the concert series. Stay tuned!
The concerts are sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, and big kudos to Economic Development Director Ann Harper for her work on the project. For more information, call 334.290.2047.
