More Charges Possible against Wetumpka Man Charged with Five Counts of Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child, Solicitation of a Child

The Prattville Police said more charges are possible against Jesse Lemar McCormick, 22, of Wetumpka, who is currently in the Elmore County Jail for five charges related to Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child and Electronic Solicitation of a Child.

McCormick was arrested April 9 by investigators with the Prattville Police Department and assistance from the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security.

McCormick was arrested at his residence in Wetumpka. He is being held on a $300,000 bond.

“This arrest should serve as a reminder to all parents/guardians that they must be vigilant in monitoring their children’s Internet and social media activity,” a release from Prattville Police said tonight.

Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.  Any other persons who may have had contact with McCormick similar in nature to the charges listed above are asked to contact the Prattville Police Department.  McCormick was known to be affiliated with youth programs in Autauga/Elmore county area.
