PAHS Pet of the Week: Meet Spectra! Retriever Mix is a Well-Behaved, Calm Southern Gal Who Loves to be Brushed

FROM PAHS

Spectra is a 5-year-old female Retriever mix who has already been spayed.  She came to PAHS as a stray with a microchip.  Unfortunately, her owner did not keep the contact information up to date on the microchip and the contact number’s phone is no longer in service.  Spectra has a gorgeous red (some say brown) coat with a bit of white markings.  She weighs 63 pounds and truthfully she could stand to lose a few pounds.

Spectra is a very well behaved and calm southern gal!  She is well behaved when walking on a leash.  Spectra would make an awesome family dog because she would be amazing with children and other dogs.  Please consider giving our sweet girl a forever home.  Spectra is in foster.  Her foster mom would be happy to tell you all about Spectra.  We have learned that Spectra LOVES to be brushed; and she will lay still so you can brush her for hours at a time!  If you would like to schedule an appointment to meet her please call our staff between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 358-2882.  Thanks!

Our adoption fee for dogs is $120.00 and is $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville and is currently open Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm but we anticipate a change very soon in our schedule due to COVID-19.  We would suggest that you contact the shelter by phone or check Facebook before coming.  Many of the PAHS pets currently are in foster homes now due to the virus crisis.  Anyone interested in adopting needs to call between 11:00 and 4:00 at 358-2882 to set up an appointment to meet the pet they are interested in.  For more information about our shelter, please call, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.

Thank you for your continued support in helping find homes for these great pets.

Sincerely, Ara Horn
