From Alabama EMA: There is No Shortage of Food; Please Only Buy What You need, Leave Some For Others

Alabama Emergency Management Agency

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), “There are no nationwide shortages of food, although in some cases the inventory of certain foods at your grocery store might be temporarily low before stores can restock. Food production and manufacturing are widely dispersed throughout the United States and no widespread disruptions have been reported in the supply chain.”

#Covid19 is not a natural disaster like a hurricane. It hasn’t stopped trucks from moving or orders from being filled. The only reason that store shelves may be empty is because people have bought everything. This inconveniences everyone, but it hurts people who didn’t have the ability to stock up beforehand, like healthcare workers and first responders that have been going full speed since the #Coronavirus response started.

When shopping, please only get what you need, and leave at least one item for the next person.
