The Holtville/Slapout Fire Department will host their annual Camp Stew Sale Saturday, March 7, beginning at 7:30 a.m. until it is gone! That is usually earlier than later, so we advise you to get their early. A quart of Camp Stew is just $8.
The department is located at 5615 Ceasarville Road.
Also, are you interested in becoming a volunteer for the fire department? You are invited to come visit on Tuesday nights during training. If you are interested in helping your Holtville Slapout community, they are looking for you. The only qualifications you need is you CARE about people. Volunteers are needed in multiple areas, not just fire fighting! You may have skills that could be utilized by this small but dedicated department.
I visited with the new Board of Directors recently and will soon have a story about lots of changes, in a positive way, at the department. Stay tuned!
But in the meantime, remember to go Saturday and get your camp stew! It is great to freeze for later as well. Stock up and support this volunteer, community fire and rescue department!
