Wetumpka Mardi Gras Photos! Beautiful Day for a Parade in Historic Downtown

PHOTOS BY AUSTIN SPEIGNER, SPECIAL TO EAN

Beautiful blue skies, plenty of goodies to catch, richly decorated floats, vendors and good food combined Saturday in historic downtown Wetumpka for the annual Order of Cimarron Mardi Gras Parade and Festival.

Combat Bike Saver organizers were honored as Grand Marshal for the event, that drew a packed crowd to downtown.

This year’s parade was the largest ever, and the festival had more than 50 vendors.

Every year parade organizers try to find someone who embodies the spirit of community and this year found a great one in Operation Combat Bikesaver in Tallassee.

Rob and Stephanie Dinsmore led the parade over the Bibb Graves Bridge into downtown, followed by a trail of color, floats, marching bands and fun.

Thank you to everyone who took a part in this fantastic event! We are already looking forward to next year. See below for all photos from today’s parade!
