HSEC Thankful for Support Throughout the Year; Office Will Be Closed Thursday, Friday

FROM REA CORD, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR HSEC

While we are thankful every week of the year, Thanksgiving week is a time to reflect and give thanks to everyone who supports our work to help the pets that come through our door.

There are so many individuals, businesses, civic groups and media members who help us in so many ways and we truly appreciate how your efforts enhance our work to educate our community and improve the lives of pets.

Our dedicated and hard-working Board of Directors work tirelessly to ensure our Shelter has solid financial footing so that we can be here for a very long-time helping animals and people alike. The Volunteers at our Tail’s End Thrift Store are truly incredible as their work not only ensures a flow of funds to our Shelter, but their good-will to those who donate, and shop, pay immeasurable dividends.

Our in-shelter and event volunteers certainly don’t mind getting their hands dirty as they augment our hard-working staff to make our animal’s lives and events the best they can be. Special mention to our foster families for helping us save even more lives as they work through all the challenges fostering can bring. And our Photographers are another most special group as their work showcases our pets to the world and increase our adoptions exponentially.

For many pets in our care, it all began with the hard work of our area Animal Control Officers who work tirelessly to protect the public and help animals in need. And we tip our hat to all the Veterinarians and their staffs for saving pets in need and educating pet owners to help pets live better and longer lives.

Special thanks to those who give wonderful homes to our adopted pets and those who rescue pets in need. We are indebted to the public who supports our mission directly and indirectly – your moral support for the welfare of animals is important to all of us in the sheltering community and helps keep us going on the down days. For those we may never meet but who love and care for your pets, keep them safe at home, make sure they are a part of your family and cherish them always you have our utmost thanks as you are the homes we strive for every day as we do adoptions.

Our final and most heartfelt thanks go to all the wonderful animals that ask so little of us but give so much in return. Our pets enhance our human lives in so many ways and we are grateful for the selfless love, joy and companionship they bring to our homes and families.

We hope everyone has a family filled Thanksgiving and so that our staff can also enjoy some time with family, the shelter will be closed Thu and Fri, 28 and 29 Nov, but will be back open on Sat, 30 Nov.

We wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
