On Oct. 21, the Millbrook Area Chamber hosted the inaugural “Business Jive After Five” event, inviting area businesses to set up a table, meet and greet and share information about their services. The event was held at the Millbrook Area of Chamber office which shares a building with the Millbrook Economic Development office on Main Street.

Chamber members were given a free space for the event, as a thank you for their membership.

Chamber Director Elisa Jones, and Chamber Volunteer Janet Brown organized the day to highlight area businesses.

“For our very first event I believe it to be a success. It was tight because we were so full. We hope to grow the event and appoint a chairperson to organize and plan it each year. We will have to seek a larger venue, perhaps the Millbrook Civic Center,” Jones said.

The event offered door prizes, samples, music, sweets and treats and so much more. The food was prepared by Max Credit Union, Catfish House and Ingram’s Farmers Market. In front of the building beautiful vehicles were available for viewing as well, thanks to Casey’s Automotive, which sponsors Hot Rods in the Park each year at Village Green.

“Business Jive After 5 came alive. It was such a pleasure meeting fellow business owners and colleagues. It was a really great start to an annual event,” said Brian Edgeworth, from Family Home Furniture.
