The Worx Auto Detail hosted a Business and Detailing Entrepreneurship class, May 5, 2025, at Stanhope Elmore High School (SEHS) to give students a hands-on look at the business side of car detailing.
Led by Owner and Operator Kyle Jenkins and his team—including Shop Manager Danny Kiddy, Paint Correction Specialist Jae Cate, and detailing apprentices Hayden Anderson and Tristin Wilson—The Worx Auto Detail has earned multiple industry and community awards. Honors include Best Detail Shop/Car Wash in the River Region, Best Car Wash in Elmore County, Best Auto Detailing Shop in Montgomery, and Best Car Wash & Detailing Service in Alabama for both 2024 and 2025.
“We were inspired to host this demonstration after [SEHS Agriscience Teacher] Payton Coburn recognized both our long-standing success in the detailing industry and our commitment to educating others,” said Jenkins. “With over 12 years in business, we are passionate about sharing real-world knowledge and helping students expand their understanding of entrepreneurship and career opportunities beyond the classroom.”
As a Stanhope Elmore High School alumnus, Jenkins said returning to campus made the experience especially meaningful, as he was able to give back by sharing more than two decades of real-world experience building a business from the ground up.
“The most important takeaway we hope students gain from this is the understanding that there are multiple pathways to success,” said Jenkins. “While college is a valuable option, it is not the only one. Skilled trades and entrepreneurial ventures offer viable, rewarding career opportunities. We encourage students to keep an open mind, explore all possibilities, and pursue paths that align with their skills and ambitions.”
Jenkins said The Worx Auto Detail is always open to participating in educational events and remains committed to supporting and mentoring the next generation, noting that their motto—“letting the city shine one vehicle and vessel at a time”—extends beyond their work and into the community. He added that he and his team welcome opportunities to collaborate with other schools to host future classes, helping students shine in their own paths to success.
