Inmate Phillip Deason escapes Alabama Department of Corrections

The Alabama Department of Corrections is searching for escaped inmate Phillip Russell Deason,
who was last seen on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, around 7:20 p.m. at his work site, United
Plating in Huntsville.


Deason is described as a 66-year-old white male, stands 5’9” and weighs 180 pounds, with
red/auburn hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue and white shirt, and a
ball cap.


According to officials, Deason was serving time for theft of property at the North Alabama
Community Based Facility/Community Work Center under minimum community custody.


Members of the public are urged not to approach Deason if seen.
