Elmore County Art Guild: Talent On Display at First Community Bank in Millbrook until Feb. 28

Sunday afternoon, Feb. 23, a crowd packed in to the First Community Bank in Millbrook for the 36th Annual Elmore County Art Guild Show, featuring amazing works of art by local artists. If you missed it, the display will remain up at the bank through Feb. 28 and most of the pieces on display are for sale.

Founded in 1985, the Elmore County Art Guild is the oldest art organization in Elmore County. Today the membership is made up of approximately 60 diverse individuals with varying backgrounds and interests. Regular meetings include educational programs and are held on the second Wednesday of every month with the exception of June, July and August.

The primary objective of the Guild is to advance and promote the appreciation, enjoyment and exhibition of the visual arts, for the mutual improvement, cultural benefit and social enlightenment of Guild members and the public at large.

Multiple categories were judged for the Show. Below are the first-place winners in each category.

Two-Dimensional Not Under Glass – Ildiko Andrews with Fishful Thinking.

Two-Dimensional Under Glass – Toska Courbron with Pelican Perch.

3-D, Sculpture and Fiber Art – Tristin Gish with Punk Piston.

Photography and Prinmaking – Richard Brown with Super Sport.

Elmore County Art Guild 2020 Board of Directors are:

Shirley Esco, President; Barbara Bryan, Vice President; Ildiko Andrews, Secretary; Richard Harbin, Treasurer, Doris Bell, Past President. Other members are Joyce Evans, Robert Bowden, Charlotte Williams and Mark Harris.
