Prattville man Arrested for Aggravated Child Abuse; Child transported to UAB

From the Prattville

Police Department

On 08-01-2025, the Prattville Police Department responded to the 300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in reference to a dispatched Child Abuse call.  The Prattville Fire Department also responded to the location and transported a two-year-old male to a local hospital and then Children’s Hospital at UAB for treatment of observed serious physical injuries.

During the investigation, it was determined that the child’s father, suspect Mario Ronell Ford-Johnson, allegedly inflicted serious physical injury on the victim.  The suspect was located a short time later and arrested for Aggravated Child Abuse (Alabama 26-15-3.1).  Ford-Johnson was then transported to the Autauga County Metro Jail where he was transferred to jail staff without incident or injury and held on no bond due to the offense, pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.  This case is still under investigation.

** An arrest warrant or an arrest is an accusation of criminal activity, not a determination of guilt.  All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. **
