The Prattville Swim League (PSL) finished its summer season with a 5th place finish from among 23 Alabama swimming teams in Albertville, AL. Three swimmers claimed state championships and one relay won top honors. Many, many PSL swimmers and relays scored top eight finishes during the two-day meet.
A week prior to the state championships, five PSL swimmers represented Prattville at the Southeastern Long Course championships in Huntsville: Bo Bindewald, Lannom Bowman, Chase Woodard, Hoyt Hatch, and Emmy Wesch. Over 50 teams from Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida’s panhandle attended. Woodard scored for Prattville multiple times: 2nd 50 breast, 4th 200 Breast, 5th 200 IM, 6th 50 fly, and 8th 50 free.
Finally, PSL will be sending two swimmers to the YMCA National Championships in Ocala, FL this week, Bo Bindewald and Lannom Bowman. These two seniors will move on to collegiate swimming in the fall, Bindewald competing for the Wilmington College (OH) Quakers and Bowman joining the Delta State Fighting Okra!
PSL begins its fall season at the Prattville YMCA, Bradford branch on August 11th. New swimmer evaluations will be held August 12th, 14th, 19th, & 21st at the Bradford Pool 5:00-5:45pm – just show up! Coaches and staff will be there to help you get started with Mighty PSL!
