MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On July 24, 2025, Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) Correctional Officer Trainee Larry Wilson, Jr., was detained on a traffic stop by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies. He was discovered to have approximately 50 grams of marijuana in his vehicle. Wilson was arrested, transported to Monroe County Jail, and charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st degree.
ADOC’s Law Enforcement Services Division Narcotics agents began an investigation and determined Wilson had additional marijuana at his Montgomery residence. ADOC Narcotic agents, K-9 officers, and members of The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Metro Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit executed a search warrant on the residence. As a result of the warrant, law enforcement seized approximately five pounds of marijuana and two firearms.
The ADOC investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
ADOC extends its appreciation to ALEA’s MACS Unit and participating law enforcement agencies for their assistance in this investigation. The MACS Unit has proven to be instrumental in its mission to reduce crime and enhance public safety across Montgomery.
