The PPD had the great honor and privilege to have officers bear witness as former PPD Officer and retired US Army Col. Desmond “Dez” Bailey was laid for his final, glorious rest within the hallowed grounds at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC recently. Dez was a great friend to us here at the PPD, a faithful and honorable servant to not only his community but our great nation, and his sacrifices over those many, many years of service were ultimately honored as he now rests amongst the greatest and bravest our nation has ever had. His family, both blood and blue, miss him dearly and are profoundly thankful to have had him a part of our lives.
From PPD Chief Mark Thompson: “Dez, you will be missed but what a life you lived and the things you have done for our Country and Prattville PD will never be forgotten. RIP my friend.”
