The Prattville City Council approved a bid for the Council Chambers Renovations project within Prattville City Hall Tuesday evening.
The bid was awarded to Bienville Construction Services LLC as they were one of four bids read aloud on November 12, and the lowest bid. The renovations to the Prattville Council chambers are set at a cost of $453,195.
Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie confirmed that during the construction of the council chambers, the Council and other meetings such as the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning and Adjustments, Historic Preservation and others will have to be relocated.
Gillespie stated that the chambers update and remodel is much needed. He showed the council and the public the renderings of what the council chambers are projected to look like with the upgrades to come.
In the resolution that was read during Tuesday’s meeting, the funds for the project will be coming out of the Capital Projects Fund within the City of Prattville Budget. The resolution read in by Councilman Michael Whaley further states that the renovations are approved and appropriated within the 2025 budget for the City of Prattville.
Council member voted unanimously in favor of the project.
