The Prattville Lions Flag Football team is making another deep run in the Class 6A-7A playoffs. Last year, in just their first season as a program, the Lions advanced all the way to the Final 4. Now in their second season, the Lions have continued to rack up impressive victories, the most recent coming in a 32-6 win over Lee-Huntsville in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Prattville held a 12-0 halftime lead and used a strong 2nd half to coast to a 32-6 victory.

“The girls came out and played well tonight,” said Head Coach Brian Pittman. “I thought we executed on both sides of the ball tonight and made some great adjustments at half to put the game away in the 2nd half.”

Prattville quarterback Kaytie Chandler passed for 150 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Lions’ offense. Hartley McCay also threw for 23 yards and 1 touchdown pass.

Offensively, Mady Cate Lindsey had 5 receptions for 51 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Lanieya Page had 5 receptions for 63 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Page also made a big contribution on defense with 4 tackles. McCay led the defense with 5 tackles. Avery Patterson and Kehyliah Rogers each had an interception, while Emma Moore and Emma Gunn each had a sack.

With the win, Prattville’s record improves to an impressive 15-2. They will travel to Hewitt-Trussville next week for the quarterfinals of the Class 6A-7A playoffs.

Prattville defeated Hewitt-Trussville back in August in a tournament hosted by Hoover High School.

“We are excited to play Hewitt,” said Head Coach Pittman. “We saw them earlier in the year and won that game, but they have gotten a lot better and have not lost since that weekend. We will have to play really well to come away with a victory.”
