The City of Prattville will let the good times roll on Saturday, February 8, with its 16th Annual Mardi
Gras Celebration, and we are proud to have Julie Price, widow of former Mayor C. Gray Price, as
our Grand Marshal! Mayor Price, who passed away in August, was a beloved member of the
Prattville community and is missed dearly.
“C. Gray was very passionate about Cultural Arts and loved the Mardi Gras Parade. He served as the Grand Marshal of the 5th Annual Mardi Gras Parade, and Julie was a participant of Prattville’s first Mardi Gras Parade. I believe Julie serving as our Grand Marshal will honor and keep C. Gray’s memory vibrant during this time of celebration,” said Bill Gillespie, Jr.
The Mardi Gras Celebration will begin with the Skills USA Prattville/Autauga Auto Show benefitting
the Autauga County Technical School. Vehicles from several categories will be on display from
10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with awards given at noon in each category. The auto show will be
located at Pratt Park near Stanley Jensen Stadium, and on-site registration will start at 8 a.m.
There will be food vendors, arts, crafts, commercial, and specialty vendors beginning at 11 a.m.
at the Partners In Pediatrics parking lot on Main Street and more vendors and children’s inflatables
at the grassy field by the spillway at Third and Court Streets. Enjoy food, shopping, and children’s
activities from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The Mardi Gras Parade will roll out at 2 p.m. with plenty of Moon Pies and beads for everyone!
The parade will start at the Autauga County Courthouse at 4th and Court and will follow Court and
Main Streets through Downtown, take a right on South Northington, then left on Doster, and will
end at Stanley Jensen Football Stadium.
The Prattville Mardi Gras Celebration is a family-friendly event that you don’t want to miss!
